To become a Certified Translator or a Certified Interpreter, the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia offers a two-step process.Step 1: Applicants must present a complete application to the Association, demonstrating that they fulfill the admission conditions to become members, who at this stage are called "Candidates for Certification."Step 2: Candidates for Certification must then pursue the stringent certification path to become fully "Certified members".
(Please note that once applicants become Candidates for Certification, they have 5 years from the date of their acceptance to become fully Certified members)For the complete list of necessary requirements, please carefully read the following instructions below. Once your application is complete, you should expect an answer between 4 to 6 weeks, except from June to August, where the waiting period may be longer.
